ACES' annual membership dinner  will feature dinner, drinks, and the indie-pop bluegrass band Paper Bird. This seven-piece band from Denver has a joyful, vintage sound.Click here to listen to Paper Bird perform with the Ballet Nouveau Colorado. This program includes a beautiful hike punctuated by an outdoor yoga practice. Home Composting Saturday, June 11, 9am - 12pm, at Rock Bottom Ranch Tired of donating to the landfill? Make compost! In this workshop, we will learn how to design and build different compost systems and how to effectively turn your food scraps into future feasts! Morning Birding at ACES Thursdays, June 16 - August 11, 6am - 9am Discover the abundant bird life of Aspen. Birders of any experience level are welcome. Bring your binoculars and guidebooks or borrow ours. Coffee will be brewing and birds will be singing! Wildflower Walks Saturdays, June 18, July 16 & 30, August 13, 9am - 3pm Join local naturalist and Wild at Heart field guide author Janis Huggins on wildflower walks throughout the summer. This collaboration with the Aspen Art Museum draws inspiration from the outdoor environment at Hallam Lake and the indoor exhibits at the Aspen Art Museum.

Young explorers will establish a base camp on the preserve to use as their point of departure into the natural world of Hallam Lake.

Training Begins June 6th
ACES conducts an intensive Summer Naturalist Internshipprogram that trains and employs 14 naturalists each year. This program has been recognized by the Princeton Review as one of "America's Top 100 Internships." Summer Naturalists receive valuable education and experience while they conduct environmental education programs and natural history interpretive tours.
