Fall Toklat
Join us for a golden evening under the aspens and cottonwoods.

This potluck and bonfire will feature an informal presentation about the delights and rewards of regional foods.

Please bring a dish to share prepared with locally grown food.

As an ACES Email Newsletter subscriber, you are receiving your invitation to the Membership Potluck by email only.  Paper copies are being mailed only to our members for whom we don't have an email address.

Thank you for helping us reduce our paper usage and our carbon footprint!

 Fall Evening Workshop
green your home
This 5-week hands-on workshop with Suzanne Farver will help you develop your own Green Game Plan to reduce your impact upon the world's environment, including greenhouse gas emissions and other pollution.  How much carbon dioxide does your own house emit? We'll take a look at your utility bills and look at some choices on how to reduce your emissions now and over the next decade.

Tuesdays, Sept. 23 - October 14th from 6pm - 8pm  Saturday, October 18th from 3pm - 6pm

Painting Nature's Fall Colors

September 19th - 20th

Painter
Join accomplished local artist Marcia Fusaro in this 2-day class to explore the wonders of our autumn colors.  We'll have fun learning how to make the color notes "sing" in your paintings. Your chosen subjects can be as intimate as a single tree or as big as the incredible landscape around us. You may paint with oils, watercolors, or pastels.

Fall Natural History Hikes

Every Wednesday in September

These hikes are an opportunity to learn more about some of Aspen's favorite trails with the guidance of an experienced naturalist. You will enjoy, learn about, and explore the varied ecological plant communities along the way. Among otherfall hike things, we will identify wildflowers in the aspen groves, and learn to recognize the song of the hermit thrush in the cool spruce-fir forest.

Irreplaceable:
Wildlife Photography Exhibit

At Hallam Lake Through September

mtgoatIrreplaceable features photos of some of the world's top nature photographers.  From the icy tundras in the Arctic to humid wetlands in the Everglades, these photographers have captured the wonder and movement of plants and animals that call our country home.

But global warming is now changing the Earth as we know it, and animals and plants from the Arctic to the Everglades are feeling the consequences.

Stop by Hallam Lake in September to view this wonderful exhibit and  learn more about the Irreplaceable campaign.

View the on-line exhibit!
