Experimenting with solar power.
Learning about renewable energy!

Sustainability Ed Programs

Building a small-scale hydroelectric power system, engineering an integrated photovoltaic array to power lights and music, building scalable models of strawbale, cob, and other natural material construction—this is a day in the life of an ACES Sustainability Ed student at Rock Bottom Ranch.

ACES Sustainability Ed programs at Rock Bottom Ranch allow students hands-on experimentation with renewable energy resources, while also exploring the Ranch’s photovoltaic solar power systems and sustainably designed building environment. Experiments with working models of hydropower generators, photovoltaic cells, and wind turbines, teach students the basic of engineering while also exploring the role of sustainable power and building design in their daily lives.
