Misadventures in Kyrgyzstan: The Silk Road Mountain Race

When Hillary Seminick signed up for the inaugural Silk Mountain Road Race, a 1,000-ish mile race climbing over 88,000 feet in elevation through the Tien Shan Range of the Himalayas, all she really wanted to be able to say was that she finished. While she, and about 2/3s of the 100-person field, were not successful in finishing what has been dubbed the world's most difficult mountain bike race, she did learn a lot about herself and the amazing country of Kyrgyzstan. There were tears, lost bags, epic scavenger hunts, 115 degree days, broken bikes, cowering from a lightning storm at 11k, and lots and lots of ramen. Join Hillary to learn of her experience exploring this amazing and untouched part of the world.
