ACES at Hallam Lake has ample room for events with great spaces both indoors and outdoors. Set on a 25-acre nature preserve, guests can enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife as well as explore our indoor nature center. ACES staff is available to present programs to guests and visitors such as introducing our resident birds of prey or leading sunset beaver walks on the lake. We would be happy to recommend local caterers or other vendors if needed. Out of respect for the nature preserve, no amplified music or loud, boistrous activity is allowed and events need to conclude by 10pm.

Your rental includes:

• Use of Hallam Lake Center: classroom, main visitor center, lab, deck, fire pit, and preserve
• Internet access
• Stereo, DVD, and CD players
• Microphone and Speakers for indoor use only
• Five 4' round tables
• Two round cocktail tables
• Six 3' x 6' rectangular tables
• 75 chairs
• Small kitchen (toaster oven, electric range, oven, sink, small fridge, microwave)
• Galvanized tub or wheelbarrow (for drink, etc)
• Toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags
• Naturalist-guided activity (Birds of Prey, Beaver Walk, other upon request)

Rental of ACES Hallam Lake property is only available to current ACES members at the Cutthroat Trout ($100) level or higher:

$1250 - Private event with catered food and/or drink: wedding ceremony and reception, rehearsal dinner, or private party.

$750 - Private event with food and/or drink for twenty people or fewer.

$600 - Private event with no food or drink: Wedding Ceremony only, simple champagne toast is acceptable. 

$300 - Private rental with no food or drink for twenty people or fewer.

Payment and Cancellation policy:
- Deposit: 50% due to reserve date and time.
- Remaining 50% due 60 days prior to event date
- Full refund less $250 administration fee will be granted for cancellations 61 days or more in advance of the event date. There will be no refund for cancellations 60 days or less in advance of the event date.

Guidelines:

  • 65 people maximum for rentals that include food or drink.
  • 100 people maximum for rentals that do NOT include food/drink.
  • During normal hours of operation, members of the public are allowed on grounds but encouraged to respect privacy of events. Hours of operation 9am to 5pm Monday-Saturday.
  • No amplified or loud music allowed outside of the Visitor Center.
  • Events must end by 10 p.m. and clean-up must be completed by 11 p.m. of the event date. If site is not clean, a cleaning fee will be charged.
  • Set up may be done the day prior to the event but must not impact ACES' programming or visitor experience. Set up must be coordinated with ACES staff 30 days prior to the event.
  • No tents in Hallam Lake Nature Preserve
  • Decorations must be cleaned up prior to the next day Hallam Lake is open
  • Rentals pick-up or clean up can occur when the center is closed for additional fee ($100/hr.)
  • No dogs in nature center or preserve.
  • No single use silverware, dishware, cups, or bottled water.
  • Certificate of Liability Insurance must be provided to ACES by Event Authorized Representative.
  • If alcohol is served, caterer or Authorized Event Representative must provide a Certificate of Host Liquor Liability.
