Get into the Garden

Rock Bottom Ranch offers many opportunities to test out your green thumb with growing "Get into the Garden" options! Friends of RBR can join the Community Garden with their own plot to grow fresh vegetables or beautiful flowers. If a community garden plot is too much for your busy schedule, come join RBR staff for Farming with your Family classes held one Saturday per month from April through September.

Additionally, in 2009, Rock Bottom Ranch partnered up with Eden Vardy of Aspen T.R.E.E. to offer an Ecological Gardening Series. The series was a huge success, so we are bringing it back for 2010! Keep an eye out for updates. Eden is also offering a Natural Building Series, where participants will have the opportunity to learn about different natural building techniques while actually constructing a traditional earthen bread oven!

Other ways to "Get into the Garden" are by taking the Practical Beekeeping course, offered at Rock Bottom Ranch by Dave Storm of local Wild Bear Bee Farm, or by signing up for Camp ReGeneration. Camp ReGeneration is a wholesome approach to living in the Roaring Fork Valley aimed at middle and high school students. Divided into various age groups, the participants will delve into activities like gardening, cooking, raising chickens, sharing food and much, much more.
