Educator/Ranch Hand POSITIONS FILLED FOR 2010 Educator Responsibilities Teach non-residential, outdoor environmental education programs forlocal elementary and middle school groups at ACES' Rock Bottom RanchWildlife Preserve. Develop and document lessons and create teachingmaterials for outdoor and classroom environmental education programs.Teach weekly environmental education lessons in the mid- and down-valleyschools. Conduct various summer camps and classes for childrenincluding Farm & Wilderness camp, Exploring Around, and ContinuingRanchers.
Ranch Hand Responsibilities Opportunity to learn and gain experience in organic gardening andsustainable agriculture practices. Assist in the care & maintenanceof a small farm, including chickens, goats, and gardens. Conductmorning and evening chores consisting of daily care for the animals.Assist with Field Study Center and 113-acre wildlife preservemaintenance and management.
Qualifications Educationalbackground in the natural sciences, environmental education,sustainable agriculture, or related field; interested and enthusiasticabout environmental education & farming; self-motivated and asincere interest in the environment; experience working in a farmsetting with children and the public.
