Comments:

Highlights today were the pied-billed grebes that we were able to study to learn about their foraging style and foods, and the subtle differences between their breeding and non-breeding appearances. Dippers in Hallam Lake and the Roaring Fork River provided great opportunities to observe them actively foraging. Near the end of the outing, a pair of golden eagles soared in circles overhead at Hallam Lake. Today's mini-lesson focused on pied-billed grebes and on the book Peterson Guide to Bird Identification in 12 Steps. Join us on December 4th for Morning Birding and on December 16th for the Aspen Christmas Bird Count.
