ACES Annual Mushroom Fair

Join visiting fungi experts, Vera Evenson and Dr. Andrew Wilson, Curator and Assistant Curator at the Sam Mitchel Herbarium of Fungi, Denver Botanic Gardens, for an ACES Annual Mushroom Fair! Learn all you ever wanted to know about mushrooms - a wide variety of specimens will be exhibited, identified and examined up close. Come prepared to look at various mushrooms under a microscope, make spore prints, learn about their intricate ways and how important they are to the whole ecosystem - you're welcome to bring your own mushrooms to share and learn about. Come to ACES for a fun filled afternoon learning about mushrooms - not to mention you'll get to discuss which ones are the choice edible varieties.

Join us for an in-depth 2-day field class with Vera and Andy on Thrusday and friday leading into the fair, when you get to experience the mushroom hunting first hand. There will be a free public Colorado Mushrooms lecture on Wednesday evening too. Come for the evening presentation, for the Mushroom Fair, or for the whole fungi event!

How To Get There:

Please bike or walk to ACES  whenever possible! We understand that you'll need to drive to ACES for certain classes - 6am birding classes, photo field trips, etc. However, when you can, make it a personal challenge and see if you can drive fewer times than last year! Parking at ACES is limited.
