Snowmastodons (Grades 4-6)
Travel back in time to learn about the great prehistoric beasts that once lived in the mountains around Aspen and Snowmass. We'll explore real fossils, tell ancient migration stories and track mammoths in the timeless wilds around Hallam Lake. Enjoy an action-packed winter day discovering fossils at ACES Hallam Lake as a Winter Explorer and discover this winter wonderland firsthand.
This class is for students currently enrolled in grades 4-6.
What To Bring:
Pack a backpack with snack, lunch, reusable water bottle, extra change of clothing, sunscreen, warm hat, gloves/mittens, and sunglasses. Please remember to label everything. Wear appropriate clothing to play in the snow and sturdy, winter boots!
How To Get There:
Please walk, bike, bus, carpool, or ski to ACES sites whenever possible (yes, you really could cross country ski to ACES when there is enough snow). Parking at all sites is extremely limited and alternate transportation is fun and saves the planet!
