Snownation – Hibernation, Migration, Adaptation (Grades 2-3)

How do animals survive through the cold, snowy winter? What do they do? Where do they go? Come learn about the intricacies of the animal world during the winter months and how they use their winter superpowers to survive. Enjoy an action-packed winter day at ACES Hallam Lake as a Winter Explorer and discover this winter wonderland firsthand.

This class is for students currently enrolled in grades 2-3.

What To Bring:

Pack a backpack with snack, lunch, reusable water bottle, extra change of clothing, sunscreen, warm hat, gloves/mittens, and sunglasses. Please remember to label everything. Wear appropriate clothing to play in the snow and sturdy, winter boots!

How To Get There:

Please walk, bike, bus, carpool, or ski to ACES sites whenever possible (yes, you really could cross country ski to ACES when there is enough snow). Parking at all sites is extremely limited and alternate transportation is fun and saves the planet!
