Winter Ecologists (Grades 4-6)
Snowflakes. Water content of snow. Snow layers. How do they change? Why are these important to humans and animals? Come explore these questions through hands on experiments, and enjoy an action-packed winter day exploring the properties of snow at ACES Hallam Lake as a Winter Explorer and discover this winter wonderland firsthand.
This class is for students currently enrolled in grades 4-6.
What To Bring:
Pack a backpack with snack, lunch, reusable water bottle, extra change of clothing, sunscreen, warm hat, gloves/mittens, and sunglasses. Please remember to label everything. Wear appropriate clothing to play in the snow and sturdy, winter boots!
How To Get There:
Please walk, bike, bus, carpool, or ski to ACES sites whenever possible (yes, you really could cross country ski to ACES when there is enough snow). Parking at all sites is extremely limited and alternate transportation is fun and saves the planet!
