Join ACES and Forum Phi to celebrate Earth Day and ring in the start of the 2019 summer season! Head down to Hallam Lake to meet community members interested in environmental issues, explore the nature preserve, and listen to music while enjoying locally-sourced cocktails. New this year, ACES will host a vegetarian "dip" potluck! Bring your favorite veggie-based dip to share; ACES will provide the dippers (carrots, chips, pretzel sticks, etc). Sign up here to let us know what type of dip you're planning to bring!
Guests are also invited to try out our bike-powered blender station, where they can use kinetic energy to make a tasty treat! Once again, Marble Distilling Company will be providing ingredients for bike-powered "Marble-rita" cocktails, as well as pink lemonade slushies for kids. Activity partners include: Aspen Historical Society, Aspen Strong, Citizens' Climate Lobby & Aspen High School Earth Group, CORE, EverGreen Zero Waste, the Farm Collaborative, Lululemon, Marble Distilling Company, and US Forest Service.
Prior to the Earth Day celebration, ACES and Lululemon will host a community clean-up in Aspen. Community members are invited to meet up at the Lululemon Aspen store at 4PM and collect microtrash through town before arriving at Hallam Lake at 5PM. Participants are encouraged to bring their own work gloves, and will each receive a special, sustainable gift from Lululemon at the Earth Day celebration following the clean-up.
Please walk, bike, bus or carpool to ACES at Hallam Lake as parking is extremely limited. Two hour free parking is available in the West End. To access the preserve from the West End, follow the paved trail behind the Red Brick building to the Nick DeWolfe Stairway to Hallam Lake.
Thank you to our sponsors Pitkin County Landfill, City of Aspen Climate Action Office, and Aspen Hatter!
