An Eye-Opening Journey to Ethiopia: Modern Medicine in Ancient Lands

Join local ER doctor Kimberly Levin on her journey to Ethiopia last spring, when she volunteered with the Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) to help restore vision to over 1,000 Ethiopians. Kim’s experience in Ethiopia includes exploring Tigray, Ethiopia’s northernmost region that’s home to 1,000-year-old rock-hewn churches, scrambing the vertical spires of the Gheralta mountains, and joining her friend and ophthalmologist Geoff Tabin in the southern town of Arba Minch for a life-changing week of working alongside a passionate group of volunteers with the HCP.

Tea, donated by Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company, beer, donated by Aspen Brewing Company, and cookies will be offered during lecture.

Potbelly Perspectives are held at ACES at Hallam Lake, 100 Puppy Smith Street, in Aspen.
