Morning Birding | ten

Discover the diverse birdlife of the Roaring Fork Valley with ACES on Tuesday morning outings this summer. Birders of all experience levels are welcome! Outings meet at ACES' Hallam Lake nature preserve or Rock Bottom Ranch (see dates for corresponding locations), and begin with a brief orientation, followed by birding in the field. We explore bird activity in a variety of local habitats at ACES sites, as well as other local birding hot spots. Every outing delivers different opportunities to learn about bird behavior, identification, migration and habitats.

Bring your own binoculars (or borrow ours) and guidebook (optional). Be prepared for cool temperatures and walking on and off trail: dress in warm layers and sturdy footwear. Come join us to discover the birds on these beautiful and serene early mornings! Be sure to check locations (Hallam Lake or RBR) and outing times, as they vary throughout the summer.

All birding classes meet at Hallam Lake EXCEPT June 20, July 18, August 15, and September 19 - those classes will take place at Rock Bottom Ranch.

She holds a BS in Biology and an MA in Environmental Education, and loves exploring the natural world with her husband, Austin, and their children Anders and Elsie.
