Summer Naturalist Hikes

ACES is currently able to offer guided hikes according to federal, state, and local public health orders.

Hike with an ACES Naturalist! Get to know more about the Roaring Fork Valley by hiking with a naturalist guide.  Meet us at one of our daily free locations, or reserve a private hike. Our guides know the area and have a wealth of stories and information to share about wildlife and history of the area.
 

Explore Ashcroft: Green Day World Hike

Our Green World Day Hike has it all; after a jaunt through the silver mining ghost town of Ashcroft, the trail wanders up along Castle Creek to wildflower meadows and spectacular big sky views. Experience Maroon Bells-type scenery without the big crowds. This tour includes a gourmet prefix lunch at the famed Pine Creek Cookhouse. Prices: $100 per person. Meet your guide at the Ashcroft Ghost Town lot at 10:00 or 10:30am, have lunch at 11:45am at the Pine Creek Cookhouse, and expect tour to end at 2:00 or 2:30pm. Learn more here!

 

Daily Free Nature Hikes

ACES Offers free nature tours at Maroon Bells, Aspen Mountain, and Snowmass Mountain. While the tours at Maroon Bells and Aspen Mountain end after Labor Day, the Snowmass Mountain tours continue on the weekends, through the last weekend in September.

 

Hire a Guide: Private Naturalist Tours

Hire a Naturalist guide, available by the hour for your hiking or educational experience. Experience the mountains around Aspen with an ACES Naturalist. Our guides know the area and have a wealth of stories and information to share about wildlife and history of the area. Hire a Guide options are perfect for individuals, families, or groups.  Email [email protected] and we will help you figure out what hike is best for you. ACES is a permitted outfitter guide through the US Forest Service White River National Forest.
